Default Baffles?

Who rides with? Who rides without? My new drag pipes have removable baffles. In they are okay, but like a little louder.

I've got BUB stubbies and the baffles in them are a free flow baffle. wouldn't matter a whit if I took them out or not where sound is concerned. in fact I think the change in backpressure would be negligable if I removed them.

I have V&H Straight shots. They are a bit too loud with out the baffles. I could stand a little louder just not as loud as no baffles in the 2 1/8" muffler chambers.

I ride with baffles installed. My V+H Straightshots are plenty loud! I can't imagine how loud they would be without the baffles.

2 1/4 inches Porker up-swepts with torque tubes and no baffles on the chopper. Good deep rumble not real loud unless you really get in to it then it get loud.
V&H Fish Tail II's on the Springer Classic with the stock baffles look great just wished they sounded more like the Porker Pipes.

Running any pipe without an sort of baffle is a performance killer. The performance loss gets larger as the pipe goes up in diameter. Most bikes run like dogs with large, unbaffled pipes. A simple 1/4 bolt, set screw, or lollipopbolted in the end or the pipe will give you back some of the lost bottom end and not restrict the sound that much.

Well my drags are same outlet as stock pipes. My baffle outlets are smaller. That should be a good thing??

My Samson, Rip Saws did not come with baffles, so they wereVERY loud. I installed some Khrome Werks HP drag pipe baffles that quieted them down just a bit. That was about 1,500 miles ago.
When I came back from riding today my wife said the bike sounded a lot louder again. I had just noticed it also, while I wasriding and it seemed like it just started.
I know the baffles have tostill be in place, since they can't get pass my down tips. Now I am wondering if they somehow burnt up. The baffles are all metal. I will have to take the tips off and see what in the world is going on.
