Default New 18" Wild 1 Apes installation on 2006 Streetbob help..

Currently I have 10" mini apes with a 4" riser. Switching them out to the Wild 1 18" Psycho Apes with the 1.5" risers. I am looking at Magnums cables for the upgrade.

Some questions I have are:

Should I use the existing cable lengths and just add more length?

Should I mount the bars first THEN measure for new cables?

Same questions for wiring extensions.

I took some string and got a good feel for what the preexisting lengths are: Clutch ~75", Brake ~49.5" ish, Throttle ~45.

Mounting the bars first would be the best way if possible.
You will get more accurate measurements that way.
For wire extension, I just added some wire to the existing wires.

There's some differences in the way some manufacturers measure their bars (or it seems so, anyway). Because of this, I always do a mock up, then measure to determine cable, wiring, and brake line lengths. I mount up the bars, then mock up the cables and brake lines with weed wacker line. Get it looking exactly how you want it, then measure how long you needed to cut the weed wacker line. Simple.

+1...although a lot of folks swear by Magnum Shielding cables. I have a golden rule, if the vendor has no phone number listed, I don't deal with them.

Ok..dumb question:

If i were to determine a +over stock length, would i then apply that + overstock to all the cables? OR...do i measure each individual cable and order them that way?

I also contacted the manufacture (Wild 1) and asked for a recommended +over stock length and they recommended +10...but that was about it in the response....,"+10" very brief response. I asked for a little clarification but have received no response. So, I am a bit confused.

Measure each cable to get the best fit possible.

And check the state laws to see if the set-up is legal.
