If you have the correct tools, a shop manual, and are mechanically inclined, I see no reason as to why not?

Plus, there are lots of step by step guides on the net. You could view these, and decide if this is something you'd want to tackle...

My personal 883-1200 Sporty will pass any stock 1200 ever made, as well as any stock Dyna.
Being able to convert allows you to build the motor to whatever power potential you want.

 

I'm practically minded but not necessarily mechanical, so I'll need a really good step by step guide.
