I've gone out as cold as 40 degrees at 6:30am for a 55 mile commute to work. That's about as cold as I want to go. I might try 38 if the opportunity presents. (It might tomorrow morning). The shame of it is that at 4:30p when I leave it's in the 50s and beautiful for a ride.

The time change in a couple days will probably seal the fate of this year's riding.

I was out yesterday for a ride at 31, we are having a heat wave today with temps up over 40. I am heading out in about half an hour for my last ride of the year. By the time I am off shift again I imagine the roads will be covered in snow and temps will be getting down around 0.

Given a choice, I only ride in temps above freezing. I have zero interest in risking black ice.

Let's just say I don't enjoy it below 50 degrees.
If I have to bundle up to the point where I lose my flexibility and freeze my *** off I'm done.

I don't ever "pack it up" cause there are Freak days up north sometimes and I'll head out if I get one of those days but otherwise I just don't enjoy it anymore when it's 50 and below.

Well it didn't clear off as it was forecast, so it wasn't quite the heatwave we hoped for. It barely made it to 40 and was humid. Oh well we got out for a couple of hours anyway and drove out to the lake. There was still some snow laying in the shadows back in the trees. Fuel stabilizer is in and she is tucked away in the garage now for the winter. The forecast for the next week is only showing highs around freezing and then dropping off after that.

Heated gear changed everything. For me, as long as the road is clear I ride.
