I have an 07 FXDB.

Doesanyone know if I can modify the stock "football" air cleaner cover to leave myself with just the center piece and have it as an open cover?

I think I've seen this before, but I can't find the thread or the pic.

Has anyone done this, or know someone who has, and what it would involve.

I'm having trouble following exactly how he did it. Is he saying that he used the die grinder to make the initial rough cut out, and then mounted it in the drill press so that the cover was rotating, while he cleaned up the edges with the grinder??

I think I'm going to have to take it off and get a good look at just what I'm up against.

It looks like there's a trim piece there too. Because the edges are really clean.

Anyway, i think it looks awesome and I hope I can pull it off myself.
