dealers
you know what really burns me about dealers? is that they will tell you a price for a job. but then they always find a way to get more bucks out of you . and i think it is the shop manager more than any thing else. i have dealt with the same shop for a long time .but in the last couple of years they have went thru a couple of shop mangers and this one . is not as good as some or the last one .the mechinc's are still as good as always . but we all like to be told one price and that's the bottom line . and i always figure hi any way.some times you can get a better deal at a private shop and the work is cheaper and better.

RE: dealers
sadly, like many things in life, it's all about the money.
The way it works, as told to me buy a harley mech. working here in central texas, is ....
1. Person brings in his bike for X reason.
2. After you leave anything that the mech. can recommend to repair or replace over and above what you
brought it in for he would get an additional percent of that repair or part.
3. Even worse news is if you bring your bike in for warranty work the mech. gets a less
per hour salary rate on that than for other work, and usually the "greener" mech's get
the warranty work.
Not all dealers do this but this trend is sweeping the the industry, autos as well.
