RE: New Dyna for $179/month
I looked into this when I bought my Sportster. The salesman told me it was a bad deal for two reasons:
1) By the time the payments go up, you've not paid a dime down on the principal.
2) The loan has a clause that says you are penalized if you pay it off early.

Those payments are for the base bike. Then they though in GAP insurance, tax addtional feesthen send you to the "chrome consultant" for another couple K in accessories. You'll be over 200 a monthpretty quick

Car manufacturers have been doing graduated payments for years, so it's nothing new. As for the84 months, I agree that it may not be a good idea, but remember you're buying a "Toy", something to play on. A lot of people can afford the monthly payments on these toys, but don't have 7 or 8 grand lying around to put down, so for them, the 84 months make sense.

They'll start doing the balloon payment thing soon to make the monthly payments even lower. Like $159/mo on an Ultra for72 months with a final payment of $16999

When I got my sporty last month I noticed they had them for 99 bux a month, the dealer told me that loan was for 6 years and then the payment went to xxx. Basically he said the 1st 3 years was just intrest and you paid nothing on the bike. He advised against it and we went another way. I cant remember the exact figures but it was enough to make a difference

$22,037.40 and you end upwith a 7-year old Street Bob. No bargain in my book.
24 months @ $199.00=
60 months @ OUCH
An that's just for the MSRP, not including tax, delivery assembly, overpriced accessories and the peace of mind that comes from knowing that if you miss payment # 83, you've lost it all. Priceless!
