Default Don't pump Gas May 15th

Don't pump gas on May 15th!!

April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas
prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all facebook members are to not go to a gas station in
protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

The average car takes about 20 to 30 dollars to fill up.

If everyone did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would possibly take
$2,200,000,000.00 (that's BILLION) out of the oil companys pockets for just one
day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a
dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldnt) repost this event with 'Don't
pump gas on May 15th!!!

What the heck amazes me is everyone complains about price fixing or no competition in (pick the industry), yet I can ride all over the city and see gas pricesthe same or not more than .02 difference at a lone station amongmany different branded gasoline stations.

I get these frequently, usually from well-meaning (brain-dead) relatives. Almost all are recycled, and suck-in the gullible everytime they get circulated!

What SHOULD be done is a month long driving limitation. Hard to quit for work sake, but if all Americans cut their leisure driving out that would be significant.

Of course, the fallout for all the restaurants, theatres, and the like that would not be getting their regular weekend crowds would most likely depress the economy.

So the solution is everyone ride motorcycles to and from work for many months.

The average vehicle takes $20-30 to fill up? Damn, I wish my truck was that cheap. It costs almost $50 to fill it up, and gets me 4 trips to town on that. I get about 13 mpg.[:@]
