RE: Don't pump Gas May 15th
It's a cryin' shame economics ain't taught in our schools, proven by this post. Pure bullpuckey. Need wood? Chop a tree. Hungry? Slay a bovine and devour it's carcassor choke a chicken and consume the remains. Fill'er up on the 15th, son. No lines at the pump.

The only way to influence gas prices is to lower consumption for the long term. Shifting the day you fill up has no effect on prices. Lip service has no effect. I you want to lower prices lower the demand. Everyone screams about prices but demand increases.

Like others have said the don't fill up on May 15th is pretty pointless. How about either ride your bike to work, car pool, or don't drive at all that day? That might actually make a difference.

The real trick would be not to use any gas on May 15th. That would actually cost the gas companies some money. Putting off a purchas does not help.

The average vehicle takes $20-30 to fill up? Damn, I wish my truck was that cheap. It costs almost $50 to fill it up, and gets me 4 trips to town on that. I get about 13 mpg.[:@]

One day isn't going to do crap! It's time for everyone to get through to these retards in Washington. We're fed up with this crap and not going to take it any more! Gas prices are higher because we aren't using as much as we used to. The oil companies are jacking prices to compensate. Want to do something about gas prices? Write your congressman. The oil companies are screwing us all and something needs to be done before we can't even afford to ride our bikes anymore! It just pisses me off!
Oil companies record record profits while everybody suffers. That's B/S.

According to those numbers, 110,000,000 people or so would be getting gas on that day. In other words, 55,000,000 on the 14th and 55,000,000 on the 16th, that will show those mean oil companies.
I like the idea of passing around a nobody breath for 20 minutes on May 15th, that will show those people causing global warming a thing or two. That way everyone that believes crap like this will be gone, that's 110,000,000 people less causing problems for the rest of us.

Don't pump gas on May 15th!!
April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas
prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.
On May 15th 2007, all facebook members are to not go to a gas station in
protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.
The average car takes about 20 to 30 dollars to fill up.
If everyone did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would possibly take
$2,200,000,000.00 (that's BILLION) out of the oil companys pockets for just one
day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a
dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.
If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldnt) repost this event with 'Don't
pump gas on May 15th!!!

that's stupid as hell. they know you'll be back on the 16th to fill up. do you think companies that make $30 billion in profits a quarter can't wait you out?
