I use these http://www.rideicon.com/products/?productGroupId=66742
lightweight, breathable and offer good protection. I heard they won't peel off in a slide.
Mine were a touch tight, I broke them in "wet", only minor dye stains on my hands.

Good old fashioned US Army leather shells and I keep the wool liners in the bag for the cold... Ride in enough rain storms and the form to the hand pretty well... And only 10 bucks at the local surplus shop... Had mine since 98

I usually pick up a pair of tig welding gloves at work, they feel pretty good in the hot weather.

During summer, I like the breathable gloves like Mechanix. Winter I use leather, lined or not.

Bought a pair of these for the summer here. Light, breathable and offer a load of protection on the palm and heal of the hand against abrasion should something sh!tty happen.

When its hot... I use these.. http://www.mechanix.com/m-pact

Then when its a bit cooler, I use non insulated deerskin gloves. There nice and soft.

After that, when its 40 or 50 degrees, I wear insulated leather gloves.

I carry all 3 pairs all the time, you just never know what the weather will do.
