You have to hang onto them more than 6 months.Every Harley I have ever sold, most have almost doubled my money.

well, i'm not too concerned about resale. i bought my scoot a month before the 07's come out, with the intention of running the wheels off of it. resale value is about #20 on the top 10 things i worry about.

Maybe this was mentioned but i have to put in my opinion (as usual). Harleys do hold value. The fact that you still see 10 year old harleys going for $10-13k is proof. You can't expect to get the same price only a year or two later. Hold onto it for 10 years and sell it. Then submit a post that reads, "Holy crap!!! Harleys really hold their value!!" Good luck with the sale.

Well if you finaced the bike you probably owe just about what you could get for it in trade. So you should be happy. How many other vehicles can you break even point on a loan at one year?

Curious as why you are buying another Harley when you didn't ride the one you had?

I bought my Harley knowing that if I sold it I'd recover about 70% or a little more.... Not many other autos that you can do that with.
I think your expectations are wrong - to high....

20 years from now....your Harley is still gonna be running, long after the metric bike crapped out and sitting in the crap pile. How much do you think the metric will be worth at that time?
That didn't even make sense...............there are one pile of 20 year old Honda's still on the road and working just fine
