Muskegon Bike Time.....
So Muskegon Bike time is moving about 10 miles south of the city core and seems like thumbing it's nose at one of the primary sponsors that started this great bike rally, a scaled down Daytona. So it's going to a former horse track, that is in litigation with a local Native-American nation, parking for 9,000 motorcycles but it will cost an individual about $25.00 a day to go to what was a free rally. This Native American nation wants to build/operate a casino, soon. Where will the new location be? Ironically the same downtown businesses that ran out the rally from Steel Horse Ally are going to hold a rally downtown Muskegon on the same street, at the same time, as the old B/T rally. New name Rebel Road, vendors free, beer tents and food tents. A couple of years the city built a new farmers market, latest rage, across the avenue from a major HD dealer, guess they didn't want the Disney World crowd (families) to cross with the biker image. Will I be going, no , do to a medical problem with a leg. In fact I can't even swing a leg over the saddle to ride. Yes there are good beneficiaries to this event and people come from all over but there seems to be something that smells in this right now. By the way Daytona city council coined the Disney World phrase, to draw that crowd to their city and it's venues, the beach. Apologize for the long read But I watched this event grow to what it's become.

I can browse the vendors on line or free......Muskegon Bike Time is a "Biker " event not a vendor event.......vendors who had food wagons parked on the streets outside of the local bar/restaurants did hurt the local economy...all of the local shops were rockin with out the vendors....good to see.....we rode out to the reservation where the vendors were set up and it was pretty much a ghost town......not many bikers there...but steel horse alley down town Muskegon was jamming.....Muskegon Bike Time is back!!!!!! Good by vendors welcome back bikers !!!

I hope all the differences or politics get sorted out. I intend to go back next year. Vendors or no vendors. This is the first year I've missed since it started. It's always something to look forward to for me, especially in January when I look at the outside temp, and it's 26 below! I too am glad Steel Horse Alley is back,I really enjoy that !
