Glad to hear you walked away. I am also in Pa and me and the OL were out this past Sunday evening. I was thinking to myself, "in another month or two it will be deer time here in Pa" I guess deer time is any time in these parts.

I've never had so many close calls with deer as I've had this year. Used to be mostly at night. Anymore, it's any time of day, anywhere, even in the middle of town at noon!
I'm much more afraid of deer than I am of other drivers.
Like others have already said...glad you're OK. That's the important part. Always makes me nervous out on these TX back roads at night...gotta watch for deer and pigs lol.

First off, glad to see the op is o.k.! I'll have to agree totally on this statement. About a month ago, the wife and I had one slam into the side of us. Only damage was it broke my air deflector off of fairing mount.
That makes #5 for me and #2 with the wife. We are really gun shy now waiting for the next one. Hate it when we feel like that.
Wife and I were just coming home from dinner and a deer jumped out from a downward wooded bank to our left. Hopped a guard rail and jumped right out in front of us.
Hit it broadside straight on at least doing 40 mph. Thing was no fawn had to weigh 200lbs.
I slowed the bike to a stop afterward we got it towed. Both us feel very sore right now.
Also glad you're OK, We have small deer in the Florida Keys and here on Maui, about the size of a Large Collie. One of the reasons I'm always ATTGAT and I don't ride at night.

it is amazing what you can hit and not drop the bike isn't it?
I T-boned an armadillo once, front wheel was vicious, back wheel launched my butt about where my shoulders had been. Darned things are like hitting a concrete parking lot stop. He just kept walking across the road, couldn't believe it wasn't killed. That was on a Honda, nearly 500 lbs lighter than my Glide, though.
