It started in the Hispanic community and has spread.
Very true. The vatos have been sporting this look for a long time. It used to be mostly bangers wearing that style of dress, but it has migrated to the MC community and other non club affiliated riders as well. 15-20 years ago I would have thought the person wearing that style of dress was a Chicano banger from the hood for sure. Nowadays, I've seen white boys and assorted others sporting that look, and they're definitely not bangers or club members. Maybe they are just trying to look "down," or like tough guys...or maybe they just find it comfortable to ride in those clothes.
Same could be said for wearing khakis or jeans with a buttoned up plaid Pendleton. Very standard around here among Hispanic and White riders.
I'm an old guy riding a blacked out dyna wearing skate broad shoes for grip & a full face for protection.
Got a pair of black ventilated moto riding pants for the heat. No way I'm wearing any kind of shorts on the bike.
