Maybe put it on cycle trader or eBay for more exposure. But, at the end of the day, something is only worth what people are willing to pay...

I've been looking on cycle trader for a white road king, maybe a '03 to '07 model, to pay cash for a second bike...no white ones available, but the others are wanting 11 to 12K for a 10 to 12 yr old bike?

Too rich for my blood...I'll pass.

Coincidence. Here's a guy locally that asking too much for his bike, and can't sell it!

Unfortunately, you're gonna have to lower the price. No matter how much you think it's worth, it's only worth what somebody is willing to pay.

Ya, it's a little high, at least for my area, but not out of the ballpark.

In my area, here's a guy selling one with 10K miles for $8500.

http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/mcy/5064785788.html

Here's one with 20K miles for $7700.

http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/mcy/5081853939.html

Here's 2009 RKC with the new frame and improved cam chain tensioners for $9400

http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/mcd/5079160805.html

You're completing with all of those. Keep in mind, there is only 1 or 2 buyers at any given time, and they are gonna jump on the cheapest low mileage bike. If you have high mileage (40K+) you're way too high.

Well I'm asking less then your buddy and my bike has more usable options then his like a drivers backrest, lowers, and a Harley radio. I hope you remember your own words when you want to sell your bike and those $6000 offers come flooding in.,,,

The market appers dead but I'm sure if I cut my price in half I'd get interest ,but in the real world thats not gonna happen. I 'm thinking maybe the motorcycle rider world is loosing interest in the sport. The bikes I see listed aren't just Harley's. Some I've noticed have been listed longer then mine and dropped their asking prices and still their not sold. If I had some lookers and no offers I would go along with the too high price theory, but thats not the case.,,
That's exactly what it means in the used market especially. Basic economics, if it doesn't sell its generally priced to high. I've been watching over 20 Harleys on the local Craig's list which haven't sold in over a year. I always figured their spouse made them put them up for sale and so they intentionally priced them to high to sell.

I really don't think anyone from florida is going to come up to jersey to buy my bike. It's not that good a price. And all those bikes are the bare bones versions.Mine has lowers, a drivers backrest and a Harly road tunes radio.Plus I wouldn't even consider a bike with an advertised new frame. Only one reason you would need on of those. If taking a 75% loss on the purchase of a Harley is the only way your gonna sell it, it doesn't say much for the brand these days. I don't see guys with other brands selling their bikes either. Heck I would welcome someone comming by to haggle. Price has never stopped anyone before why now?.,,

Oh, he's no buddy of mine - I don't even know the cat. And, why are you taking offense? All I'm saying (just like everybody else) is that you can't force somebody to pay more than they're willing to pay.
