i think the term RUB is pretty stupid too. what qualifies someone to be a RUB anyway? can someone please explain? i know what the acronym RUB stands for, but if someone was filling out an "application" to be a RUB, what type of qualififcations would that person need?

Wow, a whole lot of stuff going on in this post. Hey Grunt, if he drives a metric gas guzzling truck like a Tundra, he can always but carbon offsets from Uncle Algore.

I can't believe I just read this whole thread, I'm at work, so getting paid, not a total lose, why does anyone care if someone can afford a bike they rarely drive, they are funding RD at Harley with their purchase, some of this elitism and perceived superiorityabout harley's is agonizing to read. I say if they ride they are OK with me, I ride a Harley, after many other bikes, if they ride 1 mile a year, who cares. If they buy it to park in their garage, who cares. Maybe they'll just go out to the garage and start it once in a while, again who cares..Why denigrate someone who has an inkling of passion to ride, by the way I wave to scooters. And I treat all riders the same way with respect, regardless of what they ride.

WOW, what responces!

I never would have guest this post would have gone this far!!

and how one acronym spun this way off course!!

If i would have said "an *** clown" on a chopper at Micky DEEs no one would have thought twice about it.

This is a way more sensitve topic that I could have ever imagined.

I feel that I need to apoligize for the wording in my post!!

I know that most people on this forum probably have wwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy more discrestionary income than I do, and I ride a Dyna that i finainaced at a ridiculus rate just so I could get my hands on the last of the carburated big twins!

I dont have a trialer for my bike, but I have AAA!

and If you bike is bigger, faster, shinnier, and longer than mine, I would probably call you a RUB, but proabably not to your face!

bottom line, well all enjoy ridding, I hope.

And I would not want to take that joy from anyone by something I said stupidly.

but the folks that buy bikes that scream look at me, that are riding for attention or a fashion statment will always "rub" me the wrong way[&:]

Regards, -D-

I don't have much respect for those whobuy a bike, and don't ride it, and I agree that those who have a lot of cash are the ones who would do it. This is where the term "RUB" is being applied, but wouldn'tthe term "poser"be more appropriate?

Please let me become "Rich" and "Urban," rather than a "BSBB" (Barely Scraping By Biker).

The only thing I have to say is:

I'm gonna call the guys and Big Dogs and tell them that I want them to build me a chopper, but to be sure to make it "FANCY". I wonder what they will say?
