I guess I'm of the opinion that if you do not intend to pay me a compliment on my bike, or ask some type of general question about it, then do not talk to me about said bike. I guess the worse part was the example to his kid. "Yes, son, it IS ok to talk **** to a stranger (who was minding his own business) about his bike, and make some assumptions about him."

Guys ... the term RUB was originally meant to convey an attitude that "typified" certain people. As you all pointed out ... it was not appropriate in this post as the poster had no way of knowing if the guy was a rub, or not. For all we know ... the poster is a rub.
I'd rather be a "rubber" than a Walmart bagger anyday. We ride andhave real silverware too. Cheers

You eat with silverware??? Freaking poser. Ok, just sell thebike, buy a mini van and get down to the soccer field. I hear they are running low on Sunny D and orangeslices.

At least the bagger/greeter at Wal-Martis "Keeping it real."

Nothing sexier than asking the lady if she can change a ten.

This RUB BS has got to stop.
I couldn't agree more. Generally speaking, it's those who seemingly don't have a pot to **** in that always seem to take issue with those who do. I've never known such an insecure group of folks who so quickly begrudge their fellow man for his successes in life. Personally, it'd be a cold day in hell before I'd ever apologize or be made to feel bad because of the station I've been able to acquire in life. Life's too short. Riches too sweet. And those who have aproblem withothers who are of a different social and economical class than that of themselves are - in my view - sorely lacking in self perception, confidence, and security. Do your own thing, live your own life, and quit bitchin', raggin, and pissin' and moanin' about the other guy; regardless of status.

You may have inadvertently just stumbled onto the recipe for world peace.

Isn't a Tundra a metric truck? "Hey Kettle, you're black." Said the pot.

I posted this awhile ago and I still think it pretty much covers it.

This is what I always go by.

To put things in the simplest terms
#1 A Rub can afford to go out and buy a bike for no more reason then to say they have one.
#2 A Poser doesn't have one but sure acts like they do.
#3 A Biker buys one not to say they have one but buys one to ride it.
