Awesome Samaritan
Long story short
My rear tire went completely flat about 30 houses away from mine but in the same neighborhood.
It ended up dying right in front of someones house who owns a bad *** bagger with ape hangers. I've seen the guy before but I've never done anything more than wave to him, maybe once.
He came out of his house and we ended up putting my bike in his truck. He then told me to "just keep the bike in the truck and bring the bike to a shop in the morning".
He said whenever I was done with the truck, just park it in his driveway and throw the keys under the mat.
All I know about this guy is that his name is Don and that he and his wife ride.
With all the shitty news in the world today I had to post this story.
I was and still am floored at his generosity!

That is so awesome! There are good folks in the world.
A few years my roommate, her boyfriend, and I rode to Mich and back to SoCal. On the way back, his VMax just quit on the highway. A man stopped with his pickup to see what was wrong. He ended up loading it in the back of his truck and then we followed him to the body shop that he owned. He set Dan up with a toolbox and space to work so he could fix his bike. By the way, he was a rider as well.

....then in the morning, I was headed to the dealer in my new friends truck, to get my tire fixed, and it was gone!! Truck, my bike, his house empty, and a note on my door, that said "so long sucker!!!"
so glad it didn't end that way!!!
nice move on you new friends part. Sounds like a man with knowledge, character, and wisdom. Very few left in this world.

That is awesome! Great story and thanks for sharing.
On a side note, while I agree that there is a lot of bad things going on in the world and that we hear about it a lot more with the proliferation of the Internet to all things mobile; and because bad news sells (a testament to how miserable we all are despite the abundance many of us enjoy), I also believe that there is also more good in the world than ever before. I am subscribed to three different news sites that report only good news, in addition to Cnet (because I'm a tech junkie), and don't even read regular news sites anymore and I don't have TV. I still hear about most of the worst goings-on in the world, tho, from this and other sites I frequent...
