Leather Tour Pak troubles...(Update)
After less then a year of using it my Tour pak is rubbing holes in in the leather. The staples were not in all the way and biting right through the leather. We eneded up having to remove some of the staples and sqish some others. Even then some are working thier way out.
Since I bought it with the bike my dealer thinks they will cover it under the warrenty. They should have an answer for me by next Saturday when I take the bike in for it's 5K service. If not they will need to take pictures and send them in.
Anyone else have this problem with the leather tour pak?

RE: Leather Tour Pak troubles...
I got the studded one a couple of years ago for the Heritage.
It has been rain soaked, mud covered, snowed on, frozen, and made two round trips to Sturgis (6500 miles plus each).
Other than a few scuffs and scrapes and the straps stretchin' a bit, it has held up just fine.

The one I wish I had bought doesn't have any damage. Of course it's all in my head!
You are having a bad run of luck. I suggest packing it up and selling it real cheap to a forum member.

The Deluxe Tourpak is not leather. Unfortunately, Harley got cheap and only put leather in the weave areas and perhaps this is part of the problem. At the prices they charge, they should do a better job. I am sorry to hear about your troubles but thanks for posting this info. I am considering my options for an upcoming summertime trip. I may go with an aftermarket fiberglass unit.

The Harley Saddle bags I originally bought for the Deluxe didn't close (They have a fix for that now).
The Leatherworks bags that are on there now have a curling problem around the edges and I have had to modify the supports so they do not hit the axle. Otherwise the bags are great.
