One doesn't have to be a paying member of AMA to support their being. They're an essential Watch Dog group supporting motorcyclist, who all should be aware and supportive of. Just sign into their email and learn what the gov is pushing through that needs to be addressed with rebuttal for obvious reason.

The lobbyist that introduced w/o challenge, sustain and progressively voice increased Ethanol mixture into gasoline is just an unbelievable example.

My 103 with SE255 cams wants high octane. The best we can get in California is 91. At least thstbisxwhatvthe pump says. So, for those times my motor is not happy I carry octane additive.

During a recent Florida trip, I developed gas envy as 93 was readily available, and occasionally I saw ethanol free. The E0 was about $.50/gallon more than premium, and it was not indicated what octane it was.

I run 93 to 91 octane. I try to at least find gas with no alcohol in it. I have had a cam put in though and it more of a mileage issue for me. lower the octane less miles.

If you tune your bike to run good on regular, you won't be stressed out when you need gas and there's no 93 octane in site.,,

I have always ran the highest I could get, typically 93 where I travel up and down the east coast. A guy I ride with has an 09 Ultra with nearly 140K on the odometer and he always runs 89 octane. He has no pinging issues, weighs much more than I do, has a heavier bike and gets better mileage than I did before I started having motor work done.

Of course octane isn't the whole issue. Additive packages differ wildly in different grades of gasoline. If you want to run swamp water go for it. Your mechanic appreciates your business.

Got to say filling up this morning made me flash back to the 90's when I was traveling all the time and could fill up for 5-7 bucks compared to the 12-15 I am dropping in the tank today
