I keep the lowers on all the time, but permanently removed the vents for better flow.

I used to take off the old "non-vented" lowers for the summer. The new style I leave on.

The bike runs cooler, I run hotter. I only put them on when it's going to be late fall/winter.

Always off Central Calif. here it never rains and is rarely below 40 degrees. If I ever grow up and ride over a few hundred miles in a day they may go back on. That annoying heel shifter is off too!

Thanks Everyone. It was close to 90 here today and I rode for several hours. I took the lowers off and man what a difference it made. I didn't think it would be so noticeable. Seems like nothing else I've changed on this bike has made as drastic of a difference as I was led to believe it would. My legs never felt hot. When I put my hands near the motor to feel how much heat was coming off it, it felt warm but not hot. Probably will leave them off for the summer.
