I tried searches to see if there's been chat/knowledge about whether any of the additivesTRULY increase octane rating. And how much, if any? The 91 rating here just isn't quite cuttin it!!

 

Monday morning repost of the octane increase question below... does anyone know of a product that works??

 

Avgas (aviation gasoline) at your local airport perhaps? We used to run it back in the '70 on occasion but I have no idea what modern formulations contain.

 

I carry a 12 ozbottle of O'Reillys octane booster ($2.99)forplaces where I cannot find 91+ octane. Use one bottle for a tank fill, works well.

I'll give it a try. Av gas crossed my mind too, just kind of a hassle to mix and can't get it while on the road.

 

Do a google search. There are several octane booster products available. Take your pick!

 

I carry several small bottles of LHP from JP Cycle in my saddlebags. These are available in small (maybe 1.5 - 2 oz bottles that treats 5 gal) up to a bottle that treats 30 gal. Do a search on www.jpcycles.com

Buy a gallon of toluene at Ace Hardware. Get a 1qtalum fuel can at the sporting goods store.

Do a google search on toluene octane boost and you'll find the proper formula. It's a whole lot cheaper than any octane booster you'll find - which are mainly toluene anyway.
