How was your ride today

Did about 100 miles--up to Crystal River where a friend of mine was playing pedal steel at the High Octane Saloon, then the back road on the way home. About 85*, sunny & no wind. Smooth as glass roads & completely devoid of traffic traffic. Just the way I like it. Bike ran like a scorched ***** with a syphillis sore. Then out with the ex to meet our best friend for some great pizza in Hudson beach.
All in all a good day. Gonna play a little steel, then hit the sackeroo.

Rode home from my son's house in Madison, WI, to home, 100 miles.
Hwy 12 between Madison and the Wisconsin Dells is beautiful. Rolling hills, lush June colors, Blue Sky, White billowy clouds. I take I90 to bypass tourist-jammed Dells, them straight shot up Highway 13. That gets a little boring. Too many low speed limits, no curves. Main activity watching for deer.

I should add, it was my first time not to wear long sleeves, so my arms got pretty red, even at 10:00 to 11:00 in the morning. I didn't notice it but my wife did last night.

200 miles today, 91 degrees and humid here in Missouri. I managed to keep my Joe Rocket mesh jacket on for the entire 200 miles. It actually was pretty good as long as I was moving. I had decide on which helmet to wear, Outlaw 1/2, Bell Custom 500 3/4 or Arai full face. I went with the 1/2 thinking it would be cooler but I'm not sure, my face and neck were pretty hot. Been riding since 1974 and now that I'm 60 the heat seems to bother me more.

Got a late start today which was strong winds and 93 degree temperature. Only got in 94 miles. My typical daily ride is 180 to 210 miles.
Since Jan. 1 that puts me just under 18,000 miles for the year. My goal this year is 40K. Why you ask? Why not I say. I have HD's, time and gas money. Works well for me.
