I can certainly appreciate that statement... however... at 71, and never having been... I just gotta do it.... I am shipping my ride out... and flying into RC.... staying in Keystone... seriously considered the week before... but... the main reason I am going is simply to ride the hills and see a few outlying stuff.... I have been to just about every rally over the last 50 year of riding so the actual blow out in town is ... I am sure... something to see... but I don't intend on spending too much time there... been to pretty much every bar and club in every rally east of the Mississippi... this is just one last one for me... as said... my "Last Hurrah".... as much as I hate crowds... I just gotta do it... besides.. my son is gonna be there too... so that will make it nice.

Sturgis
the population of Sturgis is about 6800 people.
this year is going to be nuts.
they are reducing interstate speeds, increasing the length of the off ramps on i-90 at sturgis.
the intersection at the chip and hwy 34 will again be a bottle neck.
state DOT said they expect between 2-8 PM that the time it will take to get from the chip into town or vice verses will be atleast 3 hours.
There are no pedestrian crosswalks above the roads. simply because of the footprint, they need almost a block on each side to accommodate the bridge and foot traffic and sturgis is too small for that.
everyone who is going, just be ready to wait, keep calm, try and have fun.
I have some friends who are not even bringing bikes, just camper and a side by side and staying at the chip all week.
I'll be there, look for the bald fat guy on a black harley...
