Almost got hit ...
twice today on the way home from work. I have a 36 mile ride (one way), all but a mile or so is two lane blacktop through the Louisiana and East Texas Piney Woods, with one small town. While I occasionally run across an idiot, I often see more deer than vehicles.
Today as I approached a gas station somelazy slob pick-em-up driver took a shortcut through the parking lot and pulled out in front of me. I hit the binders hard, just short of squallin' the rear tire, and cut to the right to miss him. About that time fat-boy opens his piggy eyes and sees me, and cuts his wheels sharply to the left. Which means we're now going head-to-head again. I cut back to the left, watched him actually flip me off, and then almost crashed the bike laughing 'cause I got to see the foolio take out a mailbox, about 50 feet of fence, and bounce off a junk car sitting next to an even junkier trailer. Justice prevails! As I was sitting at the flashing light intersection, he jumped out and walked around his truck, so I reckon he was OK.
About 25 miles later an 18 wheeler oil field truck (water tanker) just rolled through a stop sign and like to tanked me! He was turning left from the side road I was fixing to go onto, so I just passed him on the wrong side. I know where this guy lives, and sure enough, he called me after I got home, apologizing all over the place. He was headin' back to the yard and was already thinkin' about what was for supper. Scared him worse than it did me, though if we'd actually "met", I woulda come off the worse.
Got the adrenalin going right good!

That's great. Took out a mail box, and hit a car. Serves him right.

Glad your here to post Skip, after all who would appreciate the small amount of chrome on my bike if you were gone.
In all seriousness, glad your years in the saddle led to a safe trip home to mama.

It was probably some old geezers just outfor a Sunday afternoon ofkilling and maiming.
Seriously, I am glad that you are okay. It's amazing that he would flip you off when he is the one that ran out in front of you.
