Default Carpel Tunnel anyone?

After ridin' for 19 years I've noticed that my left hand is starting to tingle on long rides, seems to last for many hours.

Anyone out there have Carpel Tunnel and if so how do you keep it from gettin worse?

I have tingling too, but it's due to nerve damage in the left elbow from too many years pitching. I DO, however, get cramps sometimes in my left forearm. Extremely puzzling to me.[sm=insomnia.gif]

Some folks with thousands of posts on this forum in just a few months might be in dangerof developing CTS as well.

This really sucks! I'd hate to think the cure for this thing would be NOT RIDING MY BIKE!

Any Doctors in this forum that ride that can give us some help?

This can be very, very serious,I would be willing to relieve you of the cause!!Of course the bike looks modified and probably has high miles,,, say about $100.00 to $250.00 what do you think!!!!???

Actully mine both do this I just let my arm down by my side and shake it (my arm!)

Not an MD -PA-C.

CTS is caused by poor ergonomics. In particular, too much extension of the wrist.

Throughout your day, imagine that you have a ruler strapper to the back of your arm, extending past your knuckles. Never let the ruler touch your knuckles.

DO NOT buy one of the over the counter splints that strap on with velcro. Most of those place the wrist in extension (called "**** Up"). This postition is what causes CTS.
