Default Smoked taillight lens

I bought a smoked taillight lens from JP Cycles and when using a standard 1157 red bulb it shines through the lens as a amber color. Has anyone else had this experience and if so could you tell me how you fixed this. LED bulb? iridium coated bulb? What's the best advice?

Try a clear bulb. It's only a couple of bucks.

Well without seeing the lens, I would guess it is like a cars smoked tail light less and you use a clear bulb. It should glow red. Like I said it's only a couple of $ to find out.......

It is a black smoked taillight lens. There is no red on the cover at all. Here is the link

Did you read the reviews?
I'm guessing you didn't.
A clear bulb will work (not very bright in the day time) or a clear LED bulb.

Thanks for the replys. I will try it out. But I don't know why clear would work but the red would make it amber.

Your welcome.

(Art 101 = mixing two colors gives a different color)
