Riders in your area?
I have seen quite a few threads since joining, especially in the new members area, that are of the topic "looking for someone to ride with" and it got me curious.
Do you live in a remote or sparsely populated area where there maybe aren't a lot of people or is riding just not that popular where you are?
I am honestly curious of the situation. I can see if you relocate and don't know people then you might not have riding buddies.
Where I live in South Dakota it is harder to ride alone. There are bikes everywhere so this topic of needing people to ride with is really strange to me and I would like to better understand what your experiences are.

Why the need to ride with someone? My bike has been in overhaul longer than I care to admit but my main riding partner rarely rides unless a group ride without me as he does not care to ride alone. While I like riding with him as we are in sync pretty well, I also very much like riding alone.

I much prefer riding solo now. I used to be big into riding with my buddies but they all want to just putt around town now. Well I can get from one end of town to the other in about 4 stop lights. That sucks. I want out. I am taking a trip in July with a group of about 10 and I fully intend to be either in front or a ways behind.

There has never been a shortage of riders in this area. I just never wanted to ride with anyone.
I started riding on the road in 1978 and have always rode alone. Until this year.
In the last four weeks I've done two group runs with a local riding group. Actually found them to be quite fun.
Still like my alone time on the bike, but also looking forward their next group run.
