Default Blue Loctite for Pegs and Shifter Peg?

Ordered HD narrow band billet driver/passenger pegs, shifter peg, and brake pedal pad.

Should I use Blue Loctite when I install thepegs?

Thanks,
Sammi

I used red, but the new pegs will come with installation instructions that should tell you which they recommend.

I carry a little blue loctite with me at all times. Either way, use some. If blue gives out after a while, then use red.

I used blue on the Sportster pegs and shifters and its held great, but on the Road Kings highway pegs it gave out so, I'm gonna use red there.

Man, where would we be without Loctite? We'd be dodging Harley parts just as much as tire retreads!

I have had the same footpegs for 5 years with no loctite, however they do have lock nuts on them. And I would'nt use red loctite on anything that may come off later.

I would not use RED on anything if you ever want to get it off easily. Using red locks it on almost for good. Great stuff but using BLUE for just about everything on a Harley is plenty...

Dealer recommends blue for most parts you might remove some day. I used it on some axel nut covers and they haven't moved. I did not use it on my new shifter peg and sure enough, few days ago it was loose and spinning on the axel. When I got home I tightened it with the blue. Be interesting to see if it stays tight now.

I use blue, red is really hard to EVER get undone if you want to switch again.

I just used the lock nuts and they worked fine. Had them on for 6k mi. and just replaced the pegs again and did the same thing. This is on pegs on an 02 Sporty.
