Parking the bike

I'll park on a sidewalk if it can be done without blocking shopping carts, wheelchairs, strollers and bicycles. Otherwise you could get keyed by an irritated 75 yr old who can't walk by with a cane. Normally I'll use the end spots shaped like a triangle. Handicap hash marks are a no-no.

Yellow stripes = no parking, whether 4 wheels or 2. For the most part bikes are subject to the same rules as every other vehicle. Only exception I've seen is in some private company lots where they line off smaller slots near the front for bikes. Parking on a sidewalk is blocking pedestrians and they could take it out on your paint.

I apologize if this question has been beat to death on the forums. I did a quick search and well I suck at it so I'll ask again. It's been a few years of riding and not sure if the culture as changed.
When you are going out some where, grocery store, movie theatre, dinner, etc and there is sidewalk large enough to park the bike on it, do you? I hate to be that guy that takes up a whole parking spot for just one bike so I'll usually park up on an area, away from the entrance.
I'm not sure if it's even legal in Colorado but I see it a lot.
What do you normally do and thoughts on parking up on a sidewalk?
Thanks
