Default Park in Neutral or in Gear?

I used to always park in neutral and somewhere down the line I started parking the bike in 1st gear and don't really remember why. Assuming it's level ground, is there an advantage to parking in neutral or a reason why I shouldn't park in 1st? Just curious.

On a slope, always in first. On a flat surface, neutral, so I don't have to shift it to start it. Otherwise, I have to move it a little to shift it, then maybe use the front brake and then start it.

I usually park in neutral unless I'm forced to park on an incline. Honestly, it's better to always just park it in gear so you have a little more peace of mind. Now, there are instances where people have struck bikes and caused them to slide on the kickstand; would these bikes have just toppled over if they were parked in gear? Possibly. I do all I can to avoid parking next to cars. Park it on the sidewalk away from the main path if possible.

Depends on what mood I am in. Normally I will just pull in my spot and shut it down. Which would generally be 1st gear.

FWIW...mine doesn't have a stand to keep it from rolling. And i set the parking brake loose so it doesn't drAg, and don't use it. So, always in 1st for me. I always start it in neutral, and rock it slightly forward to get it in neutral.

Took a riding course from two motor cops. They both told me to always put it in gear: "Do you park your car in neutral?".

When I park it in my garage; it is in neutral, so I can move it easier.
Everywhere else, I park it in gear (for stability) then put it in neutral to start it.

Always in first. I even roll the bike forward to take out the driveline slack so rolling forward can't happen. I got in this habit from sport bikes as they do not have a kickstand lock and have seen many bikes fall over because the bike rolls forward just enough to collapse the stand.

I always park in gear. Just a good habit. If you leave it in neutral and someone bumps into the bike, or ground isn't level, it could move.
I never have trouble getting bike into neutral, for starting. Just rock it forward, a little.
I usually have a stick car, and always leave that in gear.
