How are the apes affect twist

I put 12" apes on my Dyna a couple months after I bought it, and recently got some 14"s. The 12's sit just below shoulder level and the 14's are pretty much even with my shoulders and I have never noticed any adverse affect on handling. I've never had apes that put my hands way above my head so I can't comment on their handling.

Uh....just wondering what self respect has to do with what others think?
While there are those that put apes on for comfort the vast majority put them on to look baaad. Then they put a bandana bank robber style to add to the totally bad ambiance.
Makes no difference to me except that self respect is what keeps me from doing the same.

Either way, I don't think anyone here really cares about your opinion.
Take care!

Not to add fuel to the pissin' match fire, but back when I bought my FXDX it came with flat bars. After riding it awhile, I started having some back and shoulder pain. An old biker-dude I knew gave me a set of what he called "baby apes" to try; which fixed my problem. Through each of the several bikes I've owned since then, I've never returned to low bars.
Apes are something you either like, or not. Try them if you like; there's certainly no shame in changing them back if they're not for you.
