Default Thumbs Up for H-D Wiley-X Light-Adjusting glasses

My sister gave me a H-D gift card for my birthday that could only be used at a dealer. Because my clear riding glasses broke while I was in Daytona, I decided to splurge on a pair of the H-D (Wiley-X made) light adjusting riding glasses. I thought they would work for late afternoon, dusk and into darkness. (In my past experience, transitions didn't really darken enough for bright sunlight.) I bought them Saturday morning when it was cloudy and thought I would wear them for a bit. Then the sun came out brightly. Much to my surprise, these glasses get every bit as dark as my regular riding glasses! So they will be my full time glasses and transition to clear when I need them to. They also transition very quickly.

I don't know if the degree of darkness or the speed of transition will lessen over time, but I thought I would report that, at least out of the box, these things perform great! There have been threads in the past that say that they didn't get dark enough for full sun. But these definitely do.

I liked them when I was still wearing contacts. Day or night with same goggles. I prefer goggles to keep wind out of my eyes, especially with contacts. 7 Eye also makes great glasses/goggles.

I bought a pair of HD/Wiley-X Tank partially polarized sunglasses while at Bike Week. I was looking for a Wiley-X vendor but he was at Rossmeyers. The partially polarized are great because they cut out the glare but you can still read LCD readouts and such.

I went in to buy the light adjusting ones, but the guy asked me, how much night riding do you do. I do 90% of my riding during the day so the choice was easy.

My old Wiley-X sunglasses I bought 13 years ago.

Agree. The LA glasses are just dark enough for me, and almost completely clear at night. The foam inserts provide relief from dust and debris. Your eyes stay clear and moist on long days.

I have some too and I dig them!
A little tip is if they don't seem to be tinting enough or slow (which happens with time), pop them in the freezer for awhile. I do it for about 24 hours. It "recharges" them. I was told this by a manufacturer of chromatic lenses.
