$17 each in Minnesota, $119 for 3 Harleys and 4 other bikes.
There are a few things in Minnesota I don't complain about.
My newest is an '04, don't know if a new bike costs more, won't be a concern for me anyway.
Insurance is only required if you ride it, never had more than 4 insured at a time. Don't recall how much without looking it up, but I remember it was cheaper than what most forum folks have said they paid.

Just received my licence plate renewal and I'm wondering how much you guys pay in our areas...
I live in Quebec and up here we have to pay for life insurance so the pricing goes like this:
- $86.74 for the licence renewal;
- $480.39 for insurance;
- $4.35 for admin
for a total of $571.48 for about 8 months of riding.

I got to move. Here in Sask my Glide will cost $1300 for plates and insurance for 7 months, April to Nov. Thats with a 20% safe drivers discount.
Here the basic vehicle and liability insurance is mandatory when you register it and must be paid to the government insurance agency. Any extra can be bought from third parties. I pay an additional $120 for an auto-pak so it is insured over the winter when the registration runs out.
When I first ordered my Glide it was around $1600 to register it for 1 year. After it was ordered and a $1000 deposit was made SGI, the government insurance agency, started reporting motorcycle insurance was going up by up to 200%because of the high risks they have. I just about cancelled my order even if I would have had to give up my deposit. It was estimated my bike would have been in the $3600 a year with no discount. Even then with no discount my bike would run about $2330 for one year.
I would have like to have a smaller bike for around town but registering one bike is enough.
