I just checked my registration to verify what I have to pay. And since we can register for 2 years in Idaho that is what I do. It is a pain to come up with the $42.50 all at once though. The guys 30 miles away in Montana only have to pay if memory serves me right $100.00 for LIFE. (may have been $150.00)

Around $35/year. No insurance requirement of any kind. No inspection of any kind, & no helmet requirement. And, you can run any equipment you want & as long as you're not doing stupid crap, cops will leave you alone. Florida is VERY motorcycle friendly.

I guess that's one of the reasons why most of the Canadians I have met hate it there.

Not sure if I understand you right but when I renew my plate, it only costs me $48 and it lasts 2 years. I have to carry insurance on my bike but that is a separate payment.

The Canadian life insurance mandate is ominous.
Canadian DMV, "we expect you to die on your motorcycle, so you will buy life insurance".

In Pennsylvania the annual registration is a flat $18, half of what the fee for a car is.

I can assure you the most Canadians don't "hate it here" lol. If fact most of us think we live in the finest country in the world. What a silly thing to say. Almost made me lose my Canadian politeness.

A truly beautiful piece of the country. I'm looking forward to travelling through upper New York state this summer. Love the area around high falls. Great people as well.

In Pennsylvania we pay for our plate at time of the bike purchase then pay a renewal fee each year. If we sell a bike or car we keep our plate. We can transfer our plate to a new or used bike.
