Default Block fob signals

How can I keep an extra key FOB in my tour-pac and not effect the anti theft system? I tried putting the FOB in a small steel container - didn't work. Is there some kind of blocking material I can use?

Take the battery out. But keeping a fob on your bike, even without a battery, makes it extremely easy to jack your bike for any untoward soul.

What are the chances you will lose your fob? Next to nil. I have memorized my five digit code to the security system and carry the card that has the instructions on how to use it in the remote circumstances it may be required.

I'm intrigued. Why would you want to keep an extra fob on your bike when you should already have one on you???

My guess is the same reason I carry extra keys to my scooter and truck in my wallet. In case the keys, in use, are lost. He probably feels the same way about a lost fob.

Perhaps he doesn't know about, or feels uncomfortable using, the override code.

There is a card in owners manual with procedure to do override, if its gone, just print out the over-ride instructions and keep it somewhere. Why do people always over-think this - smh

I wrap the fob in tin foil and then put the fob in a bag that came with my E-Z Pass for blocking the E-Z Pass signal. I keep it in my luggage that I put in my tour-pac. If I loose one fob I'll have another in my hotel room. I can always use the override code to get back to the hotel.

I would if I was even thinking about keeping a fob on the bike would just take the battery out or put a piece of paper between the fob contact and the battery to be removed for use. But like others have said familiarize yourself with the use of the access code in the event you do lose or your fob dies. They say it's a good idea to carry a spare battery just in case.
