How hard is it to remember a 5 digit code that you should have changed when you bought the bike. I leave my fob at home all the time. It takes 10 seconds of my time to use the override and start the bike. I never keep my ignition lock key with the fob.

Put it in a lead container. The rays from krytonite don't effect Superman when it's in a lead box. Maybe it'll do the same with a fob.

I have only used one fob since I bought my bike in August 2006.

Screw that stupid fob. Get a bike with a kickstarter on it.
Nobody these days would know how to work it.

I agree because that would somewhat lower the security feature. If the key ring contained both the key and FOB, and the key ring was lost for example.

I keep my FOB on a ring with my house, and other, keys.

I carry a separate ring containing whatever I am riding/driving at the time.

Answer is simple and may have already come up.

Open the fob and turn the battery over. Close the fob and put it on your saddlebag or where ever you want to store it. When you need it, reverse the process.

If you turn the battery over, wouldn't the fob work in reverse?

I love when you ask a question in this forum and all you get is advice instead of an answer. I do however agree with the do not leave the fob on the bike folks. As for the answer to your question do a google search for RF Isolation bags. Also, here are a couple of links to get you started:

Only if it is flipped using a left-handed monkey wrench.

I don't either around home, but I'm going for a 2 week trip in 13 states - and don't want to take a chance of loosing one.
