Default Brass Grips - How do they age?

I'm really thinking of getting brass grips, I love the look........and I know brass can tarnish and get ugly, so I'm wondering if anyone has had brass grips for any amount of time and how they are holding up?

I would think if you buy them, they'd have finish on them that'd keep them shiny. Like the engine cases on bikes that are not chromed..

If you make them,, then????

I have brass footpegs on my '49. They have been on there about 10 years and look great.

I have Roland Sands brass grips on my bike . . . they look just like they did when I put them on 6 or 7 months back. Maybe over the years they will change but I imagine they have some finish on them that keeps them looking good.

I might think about getting them, if I had other brass pieces on my bike.

If allowed to go to it's natural state they would turn kind of green. So you keep the polish handy.

But I have to ask, don't you ride in the cold? Rain? Other than a indoor show bike, why?

Who had two ***** made of brass
In dark stormy weather

Don't ride much do you ? Solid metal grips of any kind will tear up your hands eventually, carpal tunnel and tendonitis are just 2 of the fall outs.
