Metric Harley
Tried taking the feelers off the Nightster pegstoday, had to use a metric wrench. If this bike is produced in the US why are they using metric sized parts? If the bike has foriegn parts how much of it is foriegn made and bolted together here? Feeling a little ripped off, think I paid a little premium getting another Harley but did not mind thinking it was US made. Still happy with the bike though.

you have two harleys, and 3k of p&a catalog stuff and youre not familiar enough with the bike to have noticed that the brakes, electronics, suspension, and fueling system is (*gasp*) made in a FERRIN country? how about that $3k worth of bling, ever notice where that stuff came from?
i buy things on impulse too and all, but i still sort of have a hard time beliving this is really a surprize.
as for the exact percentage of foreign sourced material in a HD, my guess is that there are good reasons for the corp to not bandy that information around, so as to maintain its appeal to those who want to "buy patriotism" at thier local harley mall.
dont look too closely at the hats, shirts, undies, belt buckles, doorags, and other assorted gibble that make up the majority of harleys profit margin either.
i think the harley branded beef jerkey (yeah, not kidding) is made in america. not sure though.

Lot of parts on our are hogs are made in, China, Japan, Germany and yes the good ole USA. 99% of that bolt on crap and the motor clothes harley sells comes from China. Buy some good old craftsman tools and get busy.
