Was the tire with the nail in it wore down fairly well?

You were in for 10K service...If the nail was in the back tire, you were gonna need to replace it soon anyway. If it was the front, plug it, and ride another 10K.

I have the extended warranty with tire coverage and tire replacements don't have a $50.00 co-pay, only repairs on the bike do.

YUP...my experience too when I took my 2014 Forty Eight in for the 1K mile service. I had to sign a paper also saying we went over the bike.

I had/have the same coverage - $0 co-pay with HD's (CNA) ESP w/ Tire & Wheel Coverage.

Funny how now that the bike is there they call me first thing to tell me they found a nail in my tire . . . but "your insurance will cover it less a $50 deductible". Funny, that's the price difference we were discussing earlier.

I know it's a common tactic to use when your insurance is about to run out to get new tires, but now I'm wondering if it's not also a tactic to grab a few extra bucks. Yes, I know tires get nails, and I know they can not leak, but it just seems weird by bike sat for about a month, and in the 6 mile ride to the dealer I got a nail. After 3 new bikes from another dealer/same salesman I bought this one from a new dealer after the old guy insulted me on price and trade-in. Do I have to worry about these guys now? Jeezus . . . .

It's aggravating . . . and who knows, maybe there WAS a nail in the tire.
Pull the nail (if they didn`t already) and put some Ride On in it. It will seal the leak and balance the tire until it is worn out.

Well, why do that when his wheel plan will buy him a new tire?
