McGuires and others make a spray-on car wash that you use with a thick microfiber towel, then immediately dry with a finer microfiber towel. Check out the spray wash from Griots Garage (I think it is Griots.com or maybe Griotsgarage.com - you can google it). I have used this on my bike, my street Mini, my race Mini and my mud about Subie. Works great, no scratches (though I do use a California Duster a bit). Griot's has some other great products as well, but the spray on car wash works here where we get dust and muddy spray from lots of construction going on just about everywhere around here. Hope that helps.

You need to keep your wax in mind when buying cleaning products. Using the wrong cleaning product will strip your wax if they aren't compatible. (if you use a carnauba wax, then you need a soap with carnauba in it). I put 3 coats of Collinite Marquis de Elegance wax on my bike in the Spring (spokes included) and my bike washes easily all season long.

I use S-100 on my bike but only after a thorough cleaning. It keeps the black parts of the engine looking better than new.

Last year I bought some new black mid peg mounts for my bike and compared the the rest of the bike, the out of the box parts looked old until I hit them with some S-100.

That's what Russ told me, when I mentioned the engine looking gray after I washed it. He was the one that told me about S-100.

I have a black Street Glide with no scratches, swirls or water spots and I haven't used a water hose on it in over 2 years. I use Mcguire's Ultimate Quick detail spray and clean microfiber towels. The trick is to keep a GOOD coat of quality wax on it so the bugs and dirt don't stick as well. Think of it like this, your paint is porous just like your skin. If you fill those pores with wax, the bugs and dirt can't grab the slick surface and they slide right off. For the engine I use Pig Spit. Just spray it on and leave it - looks like new.

For quick clean ups I found you can't beat Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish. I can usually pick it up at any Honda car dealer

May pull out the bucket twice a year. If caught in a downpour, a hand wash is forthcoming. A good coat of wax and a quick detailer. I use Collinite for the wax coat. Really like Surf City Garage quick detailer, although Meguiars is pretty good. Might have to try S100 to see how it works on the motor.

I purchase whatever quick detailer or quick wax is on sale. Currently, I'm using a product I bought from Pep Boys. They're all about the same. I use S100 when I get serious.

I just use car wash/wax, big wash mitt and hose it all off. Use an electric leaf blower to blow off most of the water them a microfiber cloth to get the rest. Use Lemon Pledge and a detail cloth for paint and chrome to shine it up.

I use AMSOIL's Miracle Wash. It cleans and leaves a wax protective coating. I get a lot of dust living here in El Paso and riding through the desert. Cleans my bike (paint and chrome) in less than 10 minutes.
