RE: Misconceptions about ape hangers...
just ordered some 13" mini-apes.....
Hopefully help withelbow soreness from the stock bars... My elbows tend to lock with the stock setup, and causes my joints to hurt like hell after a full day of riding![&o]

Met a guy from Texas last week here working in Ohio. He ended up riding with three of us the whole day. He had a 2007 Deluxe with 18 inch apes and it looked very cool. He let me sit on the bike and it confirmed my decisoin to go with apes but I wish I would have bought 18s now instead of 16s. The guy was 56 years young and he had no problem riding with us all day long. Those apes just look killer on the road. They put you in a position that just looks d@mn cool. Oh...and he had no problems keeping up on the curves either.
I don't understand the comments about handling problems and people nearly dropping their bikes with apes. My guess is these same folks would have trouble no matter what handlebars they have. There are a lot of novice riders out there today. Harley is making bikes at record numbers and many riders have very littl saddle time.

I love mine...2007 FXST with 16" apes mounted on 2008 Superglide Custom risers. Changes the look and feel dramatically. Better for me but notnecessarily the next guy (or gal). Everybody likes different things, that's OK. Wouldn't it be boring if we all had drag bars?

Those of us Riding with Apes will definately agree and do. Great bars and a great ride. Those that don't ride with them or like them, oh well. You don't have to like them. Also feel free to give your opinion, doesn't bother me in the least. I have an 06 Heritage with 16" apes and I think it sets itapart from other bikes. And that's what I'm after individuality......Ride Safe and Often.......BearC.Paw......
