Default SERT Install

I'm wondering if it is really required for a dealer to install the SERT or if it's something that an average Joe could do. What do you guys think?

"Installing a SERT" is as easy as hooking up a computer to the hardware and flashing the ECM with desired map. I did mine.

I loaded a map into my ECM with the SERT. It's very easy, but you still need to have it dyno tuned for optimal performance

You will have to buy a serial to USB adaptor if your computer/laptop doesn't have a serial port. Other than that its pretty easy. Just take your time when flashing the ECU. FYI, thedyno tuner said that even the map I loaded was on the lean side.

Did you happen to compare the new (Dyno) map with the one you were using? I'd like to know where to tweak on mine (using canned map from the disk). On some advice, I maxed out all cells in the CLB table, but I'm sure there's something more I can do.

No I'm sorry he didn't mention exactly where it was lean. I would guess the whole map was lean. I still have some decel popping so I posted the same question as to should I bump up the values on the CLB tables. The response was bumping the CLB would not fix the problem. Its eliminated by raising the values in the other tables. Your best bet would be to have it tuned out while on the dyno.
