Default Lien on Harley engine?

There's a long story. But basically I have the drivetrain of a fairly new Harley Davidson that did have a lien on it. I know the engines have vins. But will I have any trouble putting this in a custom frame that has manufacturers MSO and registering it? I know the titles use the frame vin, but I didn't know if I need paperwork on the origin of the engine and transmission. The state is oklahoma.

Why don't you call your State DMV or State Police office and ask them?

Trouble you don't want to get involved with when you go to title it and they will bust your ***** and probably impound the bike when you try to have it inspected if the lien isn't cleared with the proper paperwork first. Pay attention to this please or it's gonna cost you .

I'd suspect the bike was broken up to dodge something legal and liens cover the bike as a whole , something stinks in that deal...............

Ca requires an engine number and VIN on motorcycle registration paperwork.
The CHP will also verify the numbers prior to registration and check those numbers on various databases.
Why not satisfy the lien? Some dude is waiting for his money.

The guy I got it from died. I was paying him for the bike to get the title. He died and I found out his lien is more than the bike is worth.

Just because the guy died, does not transfer ownership to you.
The lien holder still wants their money that they loaned out.

What your trying to do is pretty shady.

There's a valuable lesson in that story.

Legally, ownership cannot be transferred without satisfaction of the lien.

You are likely out the money and the engine unless you can work something out with his estate.

It seems like the OP is trying to get something for nothing.

i would think the lien holder owns the whole bike. who ever is selling it is trying to get over on the lien holder. good luck cause you're going to need it.
