5yrs ago I almost bought an American Iron Horse, but decided that the Harley was the way to go. Easy to find parts, plenty of dealerships. . .I converted a softail standard into this.
I have the 240mm Phatail from Performance Machine. Besides, who ya gonna get to trouble shoot the wiring for ya on a Big Dog?
I've riden this 21,000.0 so far in the past 5 yrs. Planning a multi-state ride for 2010.
My biggest complaint is there is no place to store stuff. If it doesn't fit into my pocket it's not coming with me, a couple small bags for spare glasses and a camera.
I prefer riding my sportbike super long distances, such as over 1,000 miles. Just a better ride in my opinion.
I will be riding this Harley a long distance this summer. Maybe get the itch to swith to the Street Glide after the trip. . . .

I found that my old spider handled weird, till i got the feel for it.
Then it was just fine, just built cheeply.
Loved the look and the ride.
Dont expect a chopper to handle like a bike with no rake
I had no problems with mine as far as driveability, went down the road straight as can be.
When i bought my Harley it had 3 degree raked trees on it, that was one of the reasons i liked it over other bikes i saw on ebay.
But a dishonest seller swapped them out for stockers claiming it was unsafe(He claimed he only rode it a couple km).
Not enough to get used to it .
If i could get a Harley built to look like my pag ....omg ...Drool
