200 bux? WOW..thats more than my Ipod cost..
Yeah, they're not cheap... they're professional in-ear monitors designed to be used on stage. BUT, they are SO worth the price! The sound reproduction is amazing, the noise cancelling really works, and they're small, light and comfortable.

Cheers!

Exactly - best thing to do is read the specifications, especially frequency response.(Base response is oftentimes anemic)Some manufacturers are highly overated (BOSE for example) they don't even list the specs on their website or on the box, doesn't surprise me because they sound like garbage..

Most bang for the buck ? SONY

Don't know the model number, but SONY's in ear headphones that go for around $40 are outstanding.

You might want to try the gel type earbuds, not sure how much noise they block, but they are comfy. I might try them on my bike too, I like the idea of the ear monitors, but not for 2 bills.

Hey Clammy, is your bike dirty, or is it just the photo? Dude, you could stand some ArmorAll.

Check out this link. I got a pair of these on eBay for $20. They aren't professional monitors but they are nice, they stay in my helmet and they allow me to hear horns when I need to.

Presently riding with a set of relatively inexpensive Sony earbuds, that hook around the ears. I've worn them up to 90 plus minutes, with zero discomfort. (Except when I forget to run the wires behind my neck, and the wind whips them against my chin! LOL) While I have to have the volume up a fair ways, I don't have to max it out, to hear the tunes. Still hear the rumble of the pipes with no probs.

Thanking you in advance.

I've always been afraid to listen to music on the bike. Too many stupid people on the road. I want to keep my mind on the road (and scenery).

Does anyone find it distracting? Maybe I'm overreacting.

I have thought about pluggin my iPod in but I am still leary about it. For some reason if there is some noise around from maybe an upcoming car that I missed in my mirror or something up ahead I want to hear it. Maybe I will get over it soon.

Sony earbuds here... when I use my iPod on a ride. I still prefer to listen to the motor tho.
