'01 Dyna battery
I'm having trouble whenever I'm replacing a battery in my '01 Dyna Low Rider.
To make it worse, my bike has the Dyna toolbag option so there's a bit more stuff to unbolt before you get to the battery.
First off, when I'm reinstalling the battery, I've noticed that it's nearly impossible to install the positive cable first. The negative cable is very short and hiding underneath the frame, very hard to get to.
Today I managed to install the battery and just as I was installing the last brackets, the battery moved to a position where the positive cable hits the frame.. this resulted in a lot of sparks and smoke before I could unscrew the bracket and undo this connection..
Then I noticed that even in its correct position the positive cable is VERY close to the frame.
I'm not comfortable with the fact that the battery cable is always 2 millimeters away from short-circuiting.

I slip a short piece of split rubber hose over the ends of the cables to keep them from making contact with anything until I am ready to connect them again. Whatever works!!!
