I tried an Iron butt pace....
Came up to Santa Fe from Austin Yesterday 12.5hrs that includes a stop for a sit down lunch and a back track for gas.
That was some hard ridin, I should do better on the return trip. It's kinda strange to avrage 60mph I had to drive a lot of 80 and 90 mph speeds.
Did another 305 miles todayto get this pic....nobody takes pic of me so I do it my damn self.[8D]

Hey Ratbasturd:
That's a great photo and road. Do you do the photo with a mini tripod and the camera timer or just set camera on pavement?
I need to take more photos when I'm out on the road. Thanks for the inspiration.
That road looks great!. What is it about 25 to 30 miles dead straight?

The ride to NM was Austin to San Angelo then up to Brownfield thencutover to Roswell onhwy380 to hwy285to I-25,I had to go through a lot of small towns but I have done this route in 10hrs in a car.
The photo ride was I-25 N.to Las Vegas then take hwy104 E. to Tucumcari, the photo is 9.5 miles east of lake Conchas looking back west at the lake. The hill where the road seems to run into is lake Conchas.
I had seen this photo on an old "Nice Rides" type web page and it talked about how hwy104 was an awsome ride from Tucumcari to Las Vegas so I wanted to doit and did. It was awsome, sights to see, nobody else on the road because there is nothing out there, repeat nothing.
Warning do not get on hwy104 without checking you gas at Vegas or Tucumcri the lake has a gas station that closes at 6:00pm this is the New Mexico outback nothin out there but cattle and locals.

Great photos and just to hear you talk about your ride makes me jealous. I'm in vegas and have never ridden that route so I'll be heading out there soon, will check back and let you know how it went! Keep the posts coming.
