Default Full face helmet question...

Hi,

There are half-lids made in carbon fiber etc. that are VERY light and DOT....does anyone know of a company that makes DOT super lightweight fall face helmets? Maybe a carbon fiber Full face? My full face is kinda heavy after awhile....

Joe

Try an Arai. They are quite light. Not as light as a carbon fiber half helmet, but you'll be surprised. You also pay for that light weight...

HJC makes a carbon helmet but it's notlighter than a top shelf shoie or Arai. They use very lightweight materials in all nicer helmets. What kind of full face do you have now?

Yah, that's a good question. I do love my modular Fulmer, but at times it does get a little bit heavy. I like H-D's modular full-face, but I've never tried it on to see what the weight's like on my head.

Paulca, that's a cool link. Looks like that Hjc carbonis about 4oz lighter than a shoie or an Arai

I wear a full face Nolan. To me the flip up chin bar and face shield is worth the extra weight.
