I have one tender that gets rotated on 5 bikes......no problem.

 

My dealer has a tender that they can hook up 10 bikes at once.
Needed in the showroom with so many bikes. Newer bikes are always doing a slow drain with the electronics today.
Plus the bikes aren't flying out the door, now that winter is here.

 

I have two four bank Battery Tenders. They work well.

 

I leave the battery fitted to the bike through the winter and just connect a battery tender for 10 or 12 hours once every month or so. Doing it this way I get a feel for what sort of condition the battery is in by what sort of charge it holds for a few weeks.

 

Exactly what I do. Except I only have 3 bikes. Each bike has a pigtail wired to the battery. I just switch the tender every week or two.

You can buy either two or four single battery tenders for less that the two or four bank units. And the H-D units are simply Deltran tenders with orange labels (except that they cost even more than the green label units).

 

This is incorrect info on newer units. We will use a 2 bank 10 amp charger for example. The unit will divide the amps equally between batteries until fully charged. In the event one battery fully charges first the unit will put it in float mode. Then it will give the uncharged battery the full 10 amps to bring it up to full. Once charged it will then float both batteries. Unit will then monitor battery conditions. Then it will repeat process over and over to maintain fully charged batteries. The only downside to multi banks is usually it takes a little longer to fully charge multi batteries. Unless you pony up big bucks for higher amp units. But for storage this isn't an issue. Most new units even have lights to tell you if there is a fault. These are the way to go if you have multi charging needs in tight quarters. You only need one outlet. Otherwise I say use single ones. I have experience using both types.
